Fournier Bossing Mallets and Shot Bags
After years of frustration with the mallets commonly available
for metal forming (and usually made for other trades), Ron Fournier
decided to have custom metal shaping Bossing Mallets made to his
design and specifications. These 3 mallets offers a variety of
shapes so that you can select a hammer perfectly suited to the
job at hand. An extra deep reach from the face of each mallet
to the handle makes forming deep bowl shapes quick & easy.

Mallets
Barrel Mallets
can be easily reshaped to suit the task at hand. These mallets won't
mark your metal while shaping into a shot bag, are split resistant,
and will have a long life in your shop. They feature polyethylene
heads, hardwood handles, and are made in the USA. |

We recommend filling shot bags with #9 lead shot (sometimes called
"bird shot"). Lead shot is available at most gun or sport
stores. Remember, for best results, don't overfill the shot bag.
Leave room for the shot to displace during metal shaping.
**
Fill with silica sand / children's "play sand". About
30 lbs. will fill an 18" rectangular bag nicely. Remember,
there is a bit of personal preference involved in how 'loose' or
'full' the bag should be. |
