I was skeptical when I first bought this. I couldn't choose between the air/hydro unit and the mechanical unit. I took the risk and went with the mechanical unit and don't regret it. With the mechanical unit, unlike the manual unit, you don't NEED to bolt the unit down. I built a cart for it and it works perfectly. My buddy uses the JD2 model 4 bender and I have to say, the quality of JMR is far more superior. The arms on the JMR unit are massive compare to the JD2 bender. And the workmanship of the JMR bender just look beautiful.

Bending .120 wall DOM on the JMR machanical does take some effort but and requires some man power but the end product looks great. Bending .095 ERW is a breeze until you get to the 4th or 5th bend when your arm muscles starts wearing out. Remember to being a friend over to do some manual labor for you. The great part about the JMR machanical is that you don't have a loud compressor kicking on in the background. When my buddy and I were building a prerunner bumper, we were able to communicate the whole time and not annoy the neighbors. So if youre planning on doing weekend projects from your home garage, the JMR Mechanical is the way to go. If you have a fabrication shop, you definitely want to go with air/hydro/electrical unit.
